Question: Sy mempunyai anak berumur 1thn sebulan.tapi masih belum berjalan sendiri dan tidak mempunyai gigi.ini membuatkan sy amat risau.anak sy pun kurang makan dan kerap demam.sy harap doctor dapat membantu.
Answer: Sekiranya dia sudah boleh duduk dan berdiri dan aspek perkembangan yang lain adalah normal , ia bukanlah satu masalah. walaupun ramai berjalan pada usia setahun, ia hanya dianggap lambat sekiranya masih tidak berjalan pada setahun setengah. Ada ramai kanak-kanak yang lambat sedikit tetapi sebenarnya normal.

Hi doctor..my daugher will turn 1 y.o in this month. she can crawl well and stand (with support) but she could only sit (unsupported) for a few seconds. Is this condition normal for her age? She’s also quite petite as she weighs 7.1 kg at 11 m.o. ( one a picky eater i can tell). may i know what types of food that cud speed up her weight gain?
ps: shes allergic to dairy products

I assumed that your child was born term and not premature, i .e 37 weeks perhaps weighing around 2.5- 3 kg at birth? If so , she is small for her age. One of the reason why children do not eat well is because of the eating habit ( can refer to the article below) and overconsumption/ over dependency of breastmilk. She needs to take balanced food – carbohydrate and fat (rice/macaroni/mee/potato , u can add olive oil/margarine to yr cooking )will help with increase in weight but needs to also be supplemented with enough protein , fruits and vege.

Yeap doc..she was born at 38 weeks..weighing 2.5 kg back then. She can pick small obejcts with her thumb n index finger..still working on saying mummy as she always go Mama.lol.. besides that she finally learnt to sit unsupported b4 she turned 1yo. Thank you for the advice doc. Will try variety of food to speed up her weight gain
