Question: Hi, my toddler recently learn how to walk (Just reach 1 yo) and I noticed he likes to close his eyes while walking or keeps on blinking while doing it. Sometimes I catch him closed his eyes while crawling too. Is this normal or signs of something serious about his eyes? I dont have any eye pediatrician nearby, so please advise if this is something I should watch out for

Answer: does he fall easily when he walks? You notice that he only does it when he walks? There may not be any problems with his eyes but probably balancing and something neurological, or it could be just habitual, nothing serious. so before seeing an eye specialist, you can bring him to see a paediatrician to have a proper assessment, a general thorough one. And then we can proceed to refer to eye specialist if needed.
