Question: Dear doctors, I would really appreciate if you could give your advices on my son’s problem.
I have a 9 months old baby boy. He was just recovered from a fever which the worst ever since he was born. The temperature was 39degree C for 2 days. And after the fever is gone, I found rashes at the front and back of his body including on his face. 2 days after that, the rashes gone and I believe that it was just the roseola infantum. My problem here is that since he fully recover from the fever and rash, he refused to get feed his milk by bottle, refused to eat unless he is really starving. And this has resulted of weight loss. I am so worry and if you have any idea on how to solve this. I have tried so many ways to eat, but he still refused doing so.
Please doctor…
Answer: Was he seen by any doctor? Fever ,rash and poor feeding can mean other diagnosis. How long ago was d fever and rash? Is he well and active now? Poor feeding in a child needs an assessment by the paediatrician especially when there is weight loss. You may want to try feed slowly with spoon and increase d amount gradually. Give cool soft food like jelly just to get him back into eating. But i advise you to see d doctor.
