Teachers play a huge role as we parents are not at school to monitor. When my son told me he got bullied by his classmate who asked for rm 1 everyday, I was shocked. I was more shocked to know it had been going on for 2 months before he even had the courage to tell me. I saw the teacher and demanded to see the parents of the kid but the teacher told me that it was a small matter and i do not have to bring it that far and he will arrange for counselling for the kid. I would want to know if I was the kid’s parents .
Hi Syarina, thank you for your comment . I agree with you that teachers have a great role to play. However , as bullying are often done while teachers are not around , they may not be aware of the problem themselves. Regardless, the matter should not be taken lightly . In fact, a discussion should be held among the teachers, parents, school counselors and the children involved. It is certainly a matter that needs attention , lest it will get worse. I hope your son is coping well. It would help if he could talk to someone about how he feels.
