Question: Hi there.
I am worried that my small girl having kind of blood clot beneath her right eye, since born. We already brought to few doctors however they said that it will disappear as she grows. Today she is 1year plus and the clot-kind keep increase in size. What it is actually and what should we do?
Your advice and guide would be highly appreciated.
Thank you.
Answer: Dear AzYana, the explanation given might suggest that your child is having capillary hemangioma. It is one of the most common benign conditions of infancy. They characteristically have rapid growth in infancy (from 8-18 months) with spontaneous involution later in life. Since most of these lesions regress on their own, there is no need to intervene unless if there is systemic involvement like bleeding disorder or the lesion occlude her visual axis/ grows rapidly that cause reduced in vision/ eye protrusion. We suggest you to have a visit to an eye specialist for us to decide whether she needs to be observed or require medical intervention. Thank you.
