(Stephanie)

Answer: Dear Stephanie, it is expected that premature baby can have bilateral undescended testes, which usually will descend with time. Usually at least by 1 year of age, your child should be referred to the surgeon for evaluation and surgery if it still has not descended. . It is important that you get your child examined and seen if the testes have / have not defended. If there is no other risk factor, the weight should not be a problem as it is considered a minor surgery.
