Question: Dear doc,
My 9 month old baby girl is having a small black/purplish spot on her left lower bottom lip. I noticed it a week ago and it is deepening in colour since. She is eating her solids well and currently fully breastfed. She has no fever and is playing and cheerful as usual. Should I be worried or is it just a sort of a bruise from chewing her toy? Please advice.
Answer: We have to see to really appreciate what it is. if it is a bruise, then it should be alright, although have to make sure that it is not due to easy bruising which could be due to blood abnormalities. Is she very active and may have injured herself.
