[Q&A] Question about hyperactive

Question: Assalam/good day fellow doctors
congratulations on setting up this informative website, keep up the good work docs.
my 3 years old kids, he’s a very active boy and some consider him a hyper active . we didnt suspect anything amiss until recently when his 8 months old lil brother accidently grab his hair and a stach of hair falls down, freaked us out quite a lot.
is it due to malnutritions or somthing a lot serious,
the hair loss happened after he’d recovered from ring worm infection.
he’s still quite late on the speech and he’s a choosy eater and didnt eat much. is it inter related or symptoms that may lead to somthing serious, went to paed. that we often visit ,she said its normal after recovering from certain ailment. hoping a second opinion from your side
tq

Answer: Hair loss is a common complication of fungal infection of the scalp. ‘The fact that he does not want to eat much and that his speech is delayed is not related to the ringworm infestation.
However , I would not be able to tell if he has malnutrition without seeing him and knowing his weight , height and BMI.
You may want to check out our articles on ‘anak tak nak makan’ and we also have a few articles on the homepage on speech.
We will be having a nutritionist on the team soon , so you may want to look out for that.
Have a great weekend
