Question: Hi docs,
My newborn 7-days nephew has been diagnosed with “jantung berlubang” after a high reading of jaundice (23) and was admitted in NICU of govt hosp. Only today that we have been informed by the doctor that his condition is actually normal and it can be healed..Okay that was bizarre to us as this is the first time happened in our family. However if there is no progress today then they will refer to IJN instead. I am so curious of the doc’s explanation! Is it really “normal” for a baby to hv “jantung berlubang” ?
Answer: Jantung berlubang is not normal although some types may close on its own. However, i cant comment further on what yr doctor meant. So nanti pergi follow up, ask d doctor to re-explain ok.
