Question: During antenatal scan the doctor told me that the left kidney showed cystic appearance…but no further investigation …she said just wait till delivery and if my baby pass urine normal baby so no problem…now baby already 2wks old n Alhamdulillah has PU normally since day 1 of life…but as mother i still worry about the cystic kidney…is it common to have fetus with cystic kidney…can it resolve or i need to bring her for further check up..tq
Answer: I suggest that you bring your child for a check up as babies with cystic kidneys can pass urine anyway if not severe. However , monitoring is required . An ultrasound may be needed once your pediatrician examine your child.
