[Q&A] Is it nutritious enough to only give him fresh milk and not formula, and does his weight corresponds well with his height?

Question: My son is 24 months, he eats a lot for his age but he is only 11 kg and 89cm in height (Born 3.8 kg & 56cm in length). He drinks a lot of fresh milk. He’s not on formula milk as I note that he frequent caught cough & flu when he was on formula and also been hospitalized three times for bronchiolitis during his first year. He’s been drinking fresh milk since he’s 14 months and he gets better (caught flu & cough only once). My questions are; is it nutritious enough to only give him fresh milk and not formula, and does his weight corresponds well with his height? Thanks a lot docs!

Answer: He’s slightly underweight but his height is good.At that age, milk is not the main source of nutrition. He can drink fresh milk but his solid food intake needs to be adequate.
