Question: my baby is 9 months old. she is currently having viral fever and this is the fifth day and is on antibiotics. my question is, today i found out that she has a few red patches on the back, coudnt find any on the other body parts. what could it be? could that be an alerggic reaction?
Answer: It is not easy to ascertain the cause of the red patches without really examining the child. Is he diagnosed to have viral fever by a doctor?
The most likely cause for the red patch is a feature of the viral fever ( as in viral exanthemata ) or a reaction to the antibiotics. A side note here is that antibiotics is not required for viral fever unless there is secondary bacterial infection.
